Treatment Instructions
STEP 1: SHADE MATCHING
1. Determine the patient’s current tooth shade using the VITA shade guide.
2. Take pre-treatment photos. (optional)
STEP 2: PREPARATION
1. Place the protective eye goggles on.
2. Apply the lip protection cream to the your lips.
3. Insert the cheek retractor into your mouth with the tongue guard pointing downwards. Bite down on the arms of the
retractor and rest their tongue against the tongue guard.
4. Insert the cotton rolls on either side of the frenum of the upper and lower lips.
5. Position the face-cover gauze over the exposed areas around the mouth, and secure the gauze on either side of the
mouth with the cheek retractor.
6. Use cotton balls or gauze to dry the surface of the teeth to be whitened. DO NOT apply whitening gel to wet teeth as
this will inhibit the whitening process.
STEP 3: APPLY THE WHITENING GEL
1. Ensure all teeth to be whitened are dry and protection cream has been applied to the lips and the inner surface of the
lower gums.
2. Open the Whitening Gel foil wrap and attach the mixing tip to the dual-barrel whitening syringe.
3. Apply a 2mm thick layer of whitening gel to the teeth to be whitening.
STEP 4: LIGHT ACTIVATION
1. Position the Beyond light as close as possible to the retractor,
ensuring that the light is at a 90-degree angle to the
whitening surface.
2. The digital display is pre-programmed for 20 minutes. Press the start button to begin the first 20-minute cycle. The
light will automatically turn off when the cycle is finished. (The
duration can be adjusted by pressing the “TIME” button
to the desired setting).
3. Use cotton balls or gauze to remove the whitening gel. Use cotton swabs to remove the gel in between teeth.
(DO NOT RINSE). Repeat Step 4: #1-3 once more for a total of two cycles of 20 minutes each.
Note: Extra whitening gel leftover from the procedure can be
stored for follow-up treatments. Simply refrigerate the remaining gel
inside the dual-barrel syringe. Once ready to use, simply push out and
discard the gel left in the dual-barrel tip before beginning
application of the gel to the teeth.
Note: If any customer reports increased tooth sensitivity, or
discomfort of the teeth or gums, simply discontinu. Mild tooth
sensitivity is common in cosmetic tooth whitening, but symptoms are
transient and there are no harmful side-effects. In some cases, the
whitening gel may whiten the gum tissue during treatment. Color will
return to the gum line within 30 minutes and there will be no resulting
tissue damage.
STEP 5: TREATMENT WRAP-UP
1. After the final treatment cycle, remove the whitening gel with cotton balls or gauze.
2. Remove the cheek retractor and rinse your mouth with warm water.
3. Use cotton to dry the teeth.
STEP 6: POST-TREATMENT
1. Use the VITA Shade Guide to show how much whiter the Beyond process has made your teeth.
2. Give the patient the Beyond Pearl White Whitening Toothpaste for take-home use to maintain the Natural whitening
results at home.
